the office of the traffic commissioner uk haulier news

The West Midlands Traffic Commissioner, Nick Jones, has refused to grant a goods licence to a Wolverhampton based haulier after the director failed to attend a public inquiry.

The inquiry was called after director Sukhjeevan Singh Duhra did not disclose past convictions for drink driving, failing to provide a specimen to ascertain the extent of alcohol consumption and a speeding offence. In correspondence, the director claimed that he had been told the earlier drink driving offence was spent, which was incorrect.

The offence of failing to provide a specimen attracted a 16 week prison sentence.

Mr Jones concluded the applicant, Krystal Distribution Ltd, had failed to satisfy him on good repute and financial standing.
