Space, comfort and performance – the Renault Trucks Range C is the winning formula for owner-driver Gareth Davies, who has taken delivery of his first-ever Renault truck. The 32-tonne Range C460 8×4, which operates on haulage contracts all over the UK, undertakes long and short haul tipper movements for well-established company, Clwyd Transport Services Ltd, based at Wrexham.
The new Range C was the standout vehicle of choice for Gareth Davies, offering the ultimate in driver comfort as well as performance. He says: “As I’m away all week, space is key for me. It feels like it’s got 10 times more room than my old truck; it’s as if the Range C was designed by a driver and built with the driver top of mind. The comfort is second-to-none and there’s so much room in the cab that I can actually stand up to get dressed!”
Supplied by JDS Truck and Van, Manchester, the new Range C with sleeper cab is fitted to a 4’6” Fruehauf planksider semi-bulker tipping body and has additional chassis reinforcement from the front of the drive axle to the rear for greater durability working on challenging construction sites.
Recommendation played a part in his new vehicle selection, as Gareth says: “The Range C came highly recommend to me by other operators, so I just sat in one and was blown away. The competitive deal on the table including a four-year warranty was the icing on the cake.”
Gareth chose a plethora of cab interior extras including luxury heated seats with leather trim, performance lower bunk with dedicated lighting and remote control, 24-litre ‘quiet’ fridge, night heater, ultimate leather steering wheel with cruise and telephone control
As Gareth adds, “I’m out on the road, sleeping overnight, so I went with some nice extra touches to make life more comfortable on board.”
