NewCold has taken on 15 double-deck trailers from Ryder, the UK’s leading commercial vehicle contract hire and rental provider. The Gray & Adams trailers can carry 44 pallets each, feature Carrier-Transicold refrigeration units, and are deployed on more than 80% of NewCold’s outbound deliveries.
NewCold is one of the fastest growing specialist deep-frozen warehousing and distribution global players whose world-class systems, energy efficiency, and productivity make it stand out from other conventional cold storage companies.
In 2015, NewCold made its first foray into the UK, opening an ambitious, highly automated, 40m-high cold storage plant on a green field site in Wakefield, Yorkshire. The business recently extended its cold store with 87,500 pallet locations to reach a total storage capacity of over 143,000 pallets with frozen food produce. NewCold also has state-of-the-art cold stores in France, Germany, and Poland, meaning it is able to provide full pan-European frozen food supply chain services for its customers, including Unilever and Froneri.
The company is experiencing strong growth and expects the number of trailers from Ryder will more than double by the middle of 2018.
