Brace’s Bakery has just added a quantity of Cartwright trailers to its vehicle fleet, praising Cartwright quality as ‘the best we have ever had’.

The family-owned business, which is based in Crumlin, Newport, was established over 115 years ago and is now in its fourth generation.  It has expanded from a small local supplier to a well-respected plant bread manufacturer. The aim is to double the size of the product range in the coming months with the aim of providing a greater variety of products to the consumer, said Jason Salter, Head of Transport and Distribution for Brace’s Bakery.

The new Cartwright trailers, which will be joining Brace’s Bakery’s existing large fleet of tractors, trailers and rigids, will be utilised for trunking bread, particularly deliveries to London and the East Midlands, as well as local retailers and third party suppliers.

Jason Salter commented: “This is our first order from Cartwright although we have rented trailers in the past.  The trailers include a sliding deck as well as a tail-lift to reduce the damage previously experienced with column tail-lifts in loading bays.

“The tail-lifts are twice as fast as the old column tail-lifts and the time saving is phenomenal.

“Our drivers have been contacting us and saying they are the best trailers they have ever had.

“The build and paint quality is very high compared to the other trailers that I have seen over the past five years from other manufacturers.  We are a very happy customer,” he added.
