Zeus, the pioneering leader in sustainable freight management, has launched a new interactive web-based freight emissions calculator, enabling businesses to track the carbon emissions associated with their individual shipments.
Powered by climate-tech company Pledge, Zeus’ industry-accredited freight emissions calculator is designed to help clients measure, report and reduce Scope 3 emissions across all customer shipments. Integrated into Zeus’ flagship offering – Freight Command and Freight Connect – the new online interactive calculator allows businesses to trial the technology behind Zeus’ emissions reporting service and make tangible progress towards net-zero targets.
To utilise the tool, users need to simply enter their cargo details, origin and destination to get started. They will then get an insight into the emissions associated with the shipment and can dig into the method and data sources behind the calculation. More detailed journeys can also be explored by entering additional shipment data, transport legs, port calls, stopovers, transhipments, warehousing details and more.
The measurement and reporting of logistics emissions has quickly become a topic of immense interest and importance, mostly due to the introduction of mandatory Scope 3 emissions reporting in Europe through the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). As such, in the last year alone, Zeus has seen a remarkable 400% growth in demand for its sustainable freight solutions, significantly slashing greenhouse gas emissions for leading FMCG companies by up to 84%.
Alistair Lindsay, Chief Operating Officer at Zeus, said: “It has never been more vital for logistics businesses to stay on top of their Scope 3 emissions tracking – especially the contribution of third-party logistics. While the UK only mandates Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting, for now, the EU regulation which came into play from the start of this year already impacts many in the supply chain across the UK and wider Europe.
“Integrating streamlined logistics emission reporting from your third-party logistics provider makes great business sense for shippers and to set the best foot forward when it comes to making tangible differences to logistics emissions both within the EU and further afield.”
Following this news, Zeus’ co-founders Jai Kanwar and Clemente Theotokis were recently listed in Forbes 30 under 30 Europe 2024 for Manufacturing and Industry.
