Magnus Slater, who grew his 30-year-old distribution company from a car and trailer to a fleet of over  100  lorries and trucks, is preparing to hand over the reins of M&H Carriers to new Managing Director, Fraser Maclean.

The Aberdeen based logistics company was created by Magnus and his then-wife Helen in 1987 and has celebrated unanimous success ever since. With sites in Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and Helmsdale, the business has grown from strength to strength and now employs over 160 staff across Scotland.

With Magnus making a move to Australia, Fraser Maclean has taken the helm with an unrivalled wealth of knowledge in the distribution industry. Selling his part-owned business AJG Parcels to Menzies Distribution in 2015, Maclean worked for Menzies Distribution following the sale for 4 years.

The move has been made with futureproofing the business in mind and to ensure the continued success of M&H throughout Scotland and beyond. The company has also recently introduced new branding and IT system with hopes of streamlining the business offering.

Fraser Maclean said: ‘I have known Magnus for over 10 years, and we had discussed working together previously, so I am glad that we have now made it happen.  M&H is a strong company with excellent coverage and experience in the sector and I am really looking forward to playing my part in the future of M&H Carriers’.

Magnus Slater said: ‘I am stepping back from the day to day running of the business very proud of all that we have achieved so far.  We have retained a strong client base from the beginning and have 160 staff some of whom have been employed with M&H  from day one’

Magnus’ story has inspired his team from the very beginning and his hard work ethic was always at the soul of the business since day one. Both Fraser and Magnus have been working closely to ensure the smooth transition for both customers and staff, with Magnus confident that he has picked the correct man to take the business into the future.
