Brit European, a leading international specialist logistics provider, with its ‘Net Zero’ head office based in Middlewich, Cheshire, have extended their long standing relationship with Prometeon Tyre Group, a company focused exclusively in the industrial sector. The renewal is a 12 month rolling Pay-as-You-Go contract and includes Prometeon’s central billing and tyre management tool, ‘PRO Management’.

This new agreement covers Brit European’s entire fleet of 162 tractor units and rigids, 201 trailers, and a mix of cars and vans.  Prometeon supply Brit European with their latest Serie02 tyre products that are well suited to this heavy haulage fleet.

The Brit European heavy haulage fleet transports plant and construction machinery for JCB and Mercedes Trucks and Vans over the length and breadth of the UK motorway network, with specialist port staff at Immingham, Lincolnshire, and Purfleet, Essex. This is a high mileage fleet that travels well over a 1million kilometres a year transporting an average of 120 JCB machines a day.

Asked why Brit European have remained loyal to Prometeon, Andy Evans, Optimisation Manager, Brit European, says; “Prometeon’s heritage and expertise is a key factor and they have become a trusted part of our team. Their exemplary tyre management skills, outstanding customer support, and comprehensive dealer network have helped to secure our continued growth. Alongside that, the premium PIRELLI branded truck tyres -which are engineered, produced and sold by Prometeon – have been proven over the years to suit our unique fleet’s needs – a tyre failure is virtually unheard of.”

Brit European’s progressive approach extends to all areas of their business. The company’s ‘Net Zero’ head office, where the new contract was signed, has impressive environmental credentials.  The Vita Nova Centre, off junction 18 of the M6, at Middlewich, runs completely off-grid using 80 solar panels generating 35KWatt of electricity alongside the latest wind towers.  The state-of-the-art building is modular and constructed of a repurposed steel frame, the most efficient building in terms of energy use, with an ‘A’ rating; the company has also reduced their water usage on site by 85 percent.

Evans says, “significantly reducing waste both on our site and with our fleet operations is an important goal for our business, and we know Prometeon has a high level of environmental awareness and commitment to sustainability across all its operations both in the UK and worldwide, especially with their recycling of tyres and retread programme, making Prometeon the ideal fit for our business going forward.’

Commenting on the new contract, Wayne Bell, Prometeon’s National Fleet Manager, adds: “we are proud to be a valued partner of Brit European, and alongside our dedicated tyre network, we will continue to deliver the best tyre products and proactive tyre management service supporting Brit European’s operational demands. We fully support Brit Europeans visionary thinking of creating a 100 percent carbon neutral operations centre, and we will continue to work closely with them towards achieving ‘net zero’ by 2050.”
