As more and more companies focus on sustainability, electric vehicles are becoming the go-to fleet option for businesses committed to lowering fuel costs and reducing their carbon footprint. It’s no surprise then, that environmentally-focused logistics business, Darcica Logistics Limited didn’t hesitate when it came to updating its fleet to electric vans from Rygor MAXUS.
Darcica director, Anthony Tattersall said:
“We have always been commited to an ethos of being a sustainable business, taking logistics into the future. Although I know many companies are considering moving their fleet to electric vehicles, I wanted to be ahead of the game in the logistics field and make the change now to help reduce my carbon footprint.”
Rygor launched its new MAXUS franchise last year, with a showroom based at its Newbury site, headed up by experienced MAXUS sales manager, Paul Naylor and supported by Samuel Tobie, MAXUS business development executive.
Anthony has worked with Rygor Commercials for a few years, but this was the first time he has looked at the MAXUS arm of the Dealer group.
“Working with Paul at Rygor MAXUS was brilliant. I told him what I wanted to achieve as a business and he helped me get there, by really thinking about the position I was in and what would work for me and my business. He organised a week-long test drive of the MAXUS eDELIVER 9, so I could get a real feel of what the van was like and whether electric would really be right for me at this stage.”
Anthony added:
“It’s safe to say I loved the van…the range, the comfort and the look. I did not hesitate in placing an order and now I have three on the fleet. My drivers absolutely love them due to the comfort, the great display screen and even the electric foot step which comes out when you open the side door. It really is the little things which can make all the difference when you are doing this job. Even the fact that the door locking is contactless just saves them a little more time on each delivery they do, making their day more efficient.
My drivers really were so eager to get behind the wheel and even wanted to share photos of the new vans on their own social media! The great thing is, making this change meant that my business became more sustainable overnight. I have calculated that I will save approximately 12 tonnes of CO2 per year, per van.”
Paul Naylor, Rygor MAXUS sales manager, said:
“We all know that we need to be looking at ways we can each make changes to positively impact the environment, and just like Anthony at Darcica has recognised, now really is the time to be making a change where we can. Not every business is ready to switch their entire fleet to electric vans, but companies like Darcica, who have a set or similar planned daily route, or who do a lot of city driving perhaps, could genuinley benefit from an electric van. The eDELIVER 3, the smaller of the MAXUS vans offers a 150-200 mile range and the eDELIVER 9 can do up to an incredible 219 mile range when driving in the city on the largest battery size. Those are some fantastic ranges for an electric van.”
The MAXUS electric van range has been proving popular with customers and the industry alike, winning a whole host of awards over the past twelve months, including Business Van Awards 2022, Best Manufacturer Van Service, and Best Large E-Van for the MAXUS eDELIVER 9 and at the Company Car & Van Awards 2022, Small Electric Van of the year for the MAXUS eDELIVER 3.
Darcica too is being recognised in its industry and was announced as winners in this year’s Oxfordshire Business Awards, in the Green Award category, something Anthony is extreamly proud of.
