A rapidly-growing skip hire and waste company in the North West has invested in its fleet of trucks with specialist lifting equipment to drive forward its ambitious expansion plans.

J Dickinson & Sons has invested in a new Hiab MULTILIFT Futura FTR12 installed on a 26 tonne Volvo FM with a drawbar trailer to meet increasing demand from the industry.

In the last 12 months the family-run business based in Bolton has grown its fleet with eight new trucks and doubled the number of employees.

William King, Transport Manager for J Dickinson & Sons said: “The waste management industry is very competitive and we have a growing number of commercial contracts to service in the region.

“This MULTILIFT Futura FTR12 and drawbar trailer combination will allow us to carry up to three fully loaded skips, or up to nine empty skips at larger distances. By increasing our capacity with reliable lifting equipment and trucks we can respond to our customers’ needs better.

“We have a 30-strong fleet now and this is the second 26 tonne truck we have which allows us to service heavier skip loads for our construction and demolition customers. The remote-controlled operation is incredibly smooth and gives our operators greater peace of mind lifting and handling very heavy loads in tight spaces.”

Dek Butler, MULTLIFT specialist for Hiab said: “This advanced MULTILIFT Futura FTR12 skip loader has been designed with a drawbar trailer so J Dickinson & Sons can keep up with demand.

“The waste industry is growing rapidly and we’re seeing more interest in our larger state-of-the-art skip loaders which are designed for safety and give customers the confidence that they are fully compliant when working with very heavy grades of waste.

“I’m confident this skiploader will be a welcome addition to the fleet and will deliver in terms of performance and safety and ease of operation.”
