Leading truck manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK is delivering its 1000th vehicle to Saint-Gobain the parent company of Jewson.

The truck is being decorated in unique livery to mark its position as the 1,000th addition to the Jewson fleet of MANs.

MAN is also celebrating the milestone deal by presenting Ian Berrill, transport director of Saint-Gobain, with a model of the TGM 18.250 4×2 BB on the MAN stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham.

Ian said: “As a business employing 17,000 in the UK and Ireland alone, Saint-Gobain recognises the need to provide comfort, performance and safety while addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change.

“We have a massive fleet of vehicles servicing our many brands and our business values clearly translate into those decision making processes too.

“By choosing MAN we know we are investing in safe, reliable and efficient vehicles and the fact that this is the 1,000th vehicle to operate under the Jewson livery is to be celebrated.

“This new vehicle with the new Euro6c engine means we know we are getting the maximum performance from the truck and it is delivering efficiency in terms of payload and fuel consumption.”

The MAN TGM which is going into service delivering for Jewson nationwide has been supplied on a gold repair and maintenance contract.

Mark Price, international key account manager at MAN added: “There is a strong relationship between Saint-Gobain UK and MAN and that is demonstrated by the fact that they have returned to us to supply what is their 1,000th vehicle.

“In addition, it is a real honour to see that the customer has gone to the trouble of creating a unique livery for this milestone and it was pleasure to present Ian with the model truck when he visited our stand at the CV Show.”
