H.F. Owen Transport & Storage based in Caernarfon, North Wales is celebrating 50 years in the business with the delivery of 5 new DAF XF 530 FTG 6×2 tractor units from Hexagon Leasing.
One of the trucks has been wrapped in celebratory gold livery to mark the milestone and all have been supplied on a three-year lease.

We chose DAF because they seem to be very comfortable for the drivers which is crucial when out tramping all week around the country. They also perform very well in MPG against the competition. Also, Holyhead Trucks Services who are our local DAF dealer are only 20 minutes down the road which makes our lives much easier.
This is the first time we’ve partnered up with Hexagon Leasing and we chose them over some very stiff competition, but the deal was right for us. Mark King especially was very helpful in sorting things out to our specification. I’m sure we’ll have a lot more to do with Hexagon in the future.”
H.F. Owen was originally set up by Harry Fraser Owen in 1972 making brick and milk collections and deliveries. Two years ago, Harry retired and the company was bought by North Wales logistics firm Delivery Solutions (Delsol) Ltd but has continued to trade under the H.F. Owen name.
Today, it offers reliable and flexible haulage, warehousing and distribution services, operates a fleet of 12 vehicles and has a workforce of 15. This includes Harry’s daughter Helen as depot manager and son Harry Junior who is the driver who will be receiving the gold truck.
