Independent parcel carrier Yodel has announced its new charity partnership with ‘Walking With The Wounded’. The leading UK charity helps injured service men and women in their transition back to civilian life and work after a career in the military.

As part of the partnership, Yodel has donated £10,000 to support the charity in its mission to help vulnerable veterans get back into full employment and regain their independence.

First established in 2010, the charity paves the way for veterans to integrate into society, with employment at the root of its initiative. Yodel’s internal HR team will work closely with ‘Walking With The Wounded’s’ recruitment team to highlight potential job vacancies available to ex-service personnel.

In addition to the financial donation, Yodel will provide veterans with help perfecting their CV and hosting interview workshops, to improve their confidence as civilian jobseekers and overall career prospects.

Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Peeler, CEO at Yodel said: ““We’re proud to announce our partnership with ‘Walking With The Wounded’, a charity that provides excellent care for ex British Armed Forces servicemen and women. We look forward to working closely with the charity to identify employment opportunities for military veterans, and helping them in their journey back to work.

“We will also be encouraging our employees to get involved with fundraising activities to raise important funds and awareness for this very worthy cause.”

Ed Parker, CEO and Co-Founder of Walking With The Wounded also comments: We are delighted to now have the support from Yodel and to have received the very generous donation of £10,000. Clearly the financial support is important to the charity but it is crucial for us to broaden the opportunity to find employment for the veterans we support, and I am thrilled by the aspiration from within Yodel to do this. We recognize this cohort as a highly talented, disciplined and skilled group of individuals, and it is very gratifying when businesses such as Yodel also recognize this potential. As a charity we are very excited about developing our relationship with Yodel over what we hope will be many years.”
