The winners of the Wales Transport Awards were announced at the end of 2019 at a gala dinner in the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel, where VehoGroup were awarded the Excellence in Technology and Innovation Award for their asset management and compliance technology, Vehocheck.

Chief Technology Officer for VehoGroup, Lukas Gamble, said: “It was great to be nominated for the award, and amazing to actually win it.  We are a small company, competing with some industry heavy-weights.  It was a very humbling experience.

I think our story of how we got to where we are now through really listening to our customers resonated with the judges.  Our product development has been mainly driven by the feedback we have received.  Our philosophy has always been to engage with the industry and really listen to what they are saying.”

Vehocheck is a fleet defect management and compliance software system for operators, drivers and workshops, which provides a fully traceable maintenance and repair audit for all vehicles and heavy machinery.

Lukas Gamble continued: “Vehocheck began life as a mobile app for conducting vehicle walkaround checks, but it has become so much more than that.  A big thing for us now is cost analysis.  We are able to provide in-depth vehicle repair cost analysis through drill-able graphical interfaces”

Vehocheck is helping to shape an emerging logistics technology marketplace by introducing, cost effective, flexible fleet management systems that can meet daily compliance demands in real-time, and also alleviating the impact on the environment by being entirely paperless.
