The UK’s favourite parcel delivery company DPD, won three awards at the 2017 Motor Transport Awards in London – including the highly coveted Customer Care award for the fourth year running.

It’s the second year running that DPD has won three awards, made more remarkable by the fact that on the night, no other company won more than one. In addition to retaining the Customer Care award, DPD won the Home Delivery Operator of the Year award for the second time in three years and the Innovation Award, before more than 1,600 guests at London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane.

Comic and television presenter, John Bishop presented the awards – known as the transport industry ‘Oscars’. The evening celebrates outstanding achievement in the industry and recognises innovation, customer service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.

The judges said “DPD once again impressed with its strong business performance and industry-leading innovations. At the heart of DPD’s successes in the past year is its end-customer app Your DPD. The technology allows customers to personalise their delivery experience by changing their preferences in the application.”

DPD’s CEO Dwain McDonald commented: “What a fantastic result! To win another three Motor Transport Awards this year is incredible. Everyone always says that in this industry you can’t stand still for a minute, but to keep innovating year after year in a tough sector like ours, takes an immense team effort. The Your DPD app was clearly the star of the show, which was great to see. We’ve now got around 1.5 million people in the UK who have downloaded it.

“The Customer Care award is something special to us. We do use a lot of tech and a lot of trucks to deliver millions of parcels, but we are essentially a people-business. So, to win the Customer Care Award for the fourth year running means a lot. It is a constant focus for us and we have invested in our people and our service to our customers year after year.”

The hat-trick success follows an incredible few years in which DPD has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Innovation, theWhich? Special Award, ranked in The Sunday Times ‘Best Big Companies to Work For‘ and topped MoneySavingExpert’s customer satisfaction poll for parcel delivery companies four years running.
