Ford & Slater in Leicester, one of DAF Trucks’ top-performing UK dealerships, has been crowned ‘2018 PACCAR Financial International Dealer of the Year’. With its principal location in Leicester, Ford & Slater is also one of DAF Trucks’ largest UK dealer groups with 10 locations throughout East Midlands and East Anglia.
Ford & Slater is a family-run business which, coinciding with DAF Trucks, celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. The company says its sole use of PACCAR Financial for its customer funding solutions is instrumental to the business model and the overall success of the Ford & Slater Group.
The award was announced at DAF Trucks’ International Dealer Meeting in Seville, and is one of three major awards presented to DAF Dealers across Europe. Other awards were presented to ESA Trucks Polska Sp. z o.o. for ‘2018 DAF International Dealer of the Year’ and DAF Dealer DBK sp. z o.o. in Olsztyn (Poland), which was named ‘PACCAR Parts Europe International Dealer of the Year’.
In addition, Ford & Slater was on the podium again at DAF Trucks’ UK DAF Dealer Awards in Manchester, picking up three honours; Retail Sales Dealer of the Year, Technical Training Dealer of the Year for the company’s Lincoln location and DAF Service Dealer of the Year for its operation in King’s Lynn.

Gerrit-Jan Bas, Managing Director PACCAR Financial Europe handed the ‘2018 PACCAR Financial Europe International Dealer of the Year’ award to Nigel and Tim Strevens, Joint Managing Directors of Ford & Slater Ltd.

In addition to the ‘2018 International Awards’, ten Gold Award Winners were recognised for excellent overall dealer performance. Among them was Imperial Commercials Ltd. in Hull.
