Police are warning lorry drivers to beware of thieves stealing diesel from their parked vehicles in the Horsham area.
On Monday (10 November) a lorry driver reported that he had parked in a layby on the A24 at Southwater the night before and had woken at 6.30am to find he could not start his lorry. He then discovered 200 litres of diesel had been stolen from it.
Another lorry driver parked in a layby on the A264 at Faygate for a break, woke at 4am on Wednesday (12 November) to find half of his diesel tank had been siphoned and the fuel stolen.
Lorry drivers are being asked to stay vigilant and secure their fuel tanks if possible.
