If we asked you to imagine your dream car…for most of us, we would most likely imagine a fast sports car. And if we asked you how you prefer to travel abroad…again most of us would probably choose the fastest mode of transport.
There seems to be a fast version of pretty much every mode of transport. We have supercars, we have fighter jets, we have bullet trains – but what about vans? We do also have faster versions of vans, and these come in the form of a minivan, and you might be surprised at how fast some of them can go.
Ranking them in order of the time it takes get from 0-60mph, commercial vans retailer Van Monster has the full line-up of the fastest vans on the road today in a new infographic below. Can you guess which minivan takes first place?
Just like Formula One, each manufacturer can only have two entries, of which each entry looks under the hood at the type of engine, whilst also considering the brake horsepower and torque that each vehicle is capable of.
Not only that, but each entry also offers a ‘fast fact’ to gain more knowledge about some of the fastest vans on the road today. For example, did you know that the 2011 Toyota Sienna SE was the only minivan to offer all-wheel-drive when it was released? For most of us, probably not.
Do you have a van that lets you down when it comes to speed? The infographic below not only presents the full line-up and fast facts, but offers advice on how you can modify your own van to increase its acceleration via features like the brake system, engine control units, the exhaust system, air intake filter, spark plugs and season-appropriate tyres. There are more ways than you think to make your trusty set of wheels even quicker… and the advice can be applied to vans of any shape or size.
With all this is mind – which vans made the final cut? Entries from Toyota, Honda, Kia, Ford, Mercedes, Dodge and VW were all considered for the final ten, but which was considered the fastest? Who sped through the finish line in first position? Discover the infographic below to find out which manufacturers made it into the top ten, and why.
Van Monster welcomes you to the ‘minivan prix’…
