DAF Transport Efficiency extends beyond DAF Trucks’ product enhancements. Among them, DAF’s telematics offering, DAF MultiSupport R&M packages, DAFaid, DAF Check and PACCAR Financial – all with updated offerings, and all in place to provide operators with a complete whole-life ownership proposition.
DAF Telematics
DAF UK’s telematics solution is the culmination of a long-established partnership with Microlise, widely recognised as the commercial vehicle industry’s ‘go-to’ specialist for on-board fleet management technology.
DAF Telematics provides a web-based operational profile of the vehicle’s vital statistics alongside full transparency of its driver’s unique characteristics behind the wheel. Telematics is a standard benefit to all DAF customers who acquire a new vehicle with a DAF MultiSupport R&M Package.
Experts from both DAF Trucks and Microlise will be at the service of operators throughout the Show; geared-up to provide them with solid evidence of how DAF Telematics can bring about a consistently high level of productivity and ‘standardise’ it across a fleet of trucks.
Since its launch last year over 2000 new DAF trucks have now been equipped with the telematics technology.
PACCAR Financial
Among many attractive finance options, PACCAR Financial boasts Hire Plus; an ‘all in’ funding package that includes an Operating Lease agreement combined with a DAF Multi-Support Repair & Maintenance contract.
Hire Plus from PACCAR Financial incorporates three, four or five year flexibility and may be tailored to any size of operation – all with the benefit to customers of one convenient all-inclusive monthly payment. In addition to providing an all-embracing acquisition and whole-life-cost funding arrangement, Hire Plus is set-up and managed through the DAF dealer network, thus maintaining the fundamentally important customer / dealer interface and, in so doing, fostering successful and long-lasting business relationships.
Other stand-alone acquisition packages from PACCAR Financial are also available to suit any budget; these include Hire Purchase, Operating Lease and Lease Purchase options, all with built-in flexibility, and all are able to offer DAF customers the most cost effective and financially secure route to truck acquisition.
“Of course, it’s about peace-of-mind for the customer,” said Steve Barfoot, Managing Director at PACCAR Financial, “but, moreover, we have looked very hard at the detailed requirements of a huge range of operators – from the owner-operator, across the spectrum, to the largest fleets. Consequently,” he said, “we can offer a suite of funding propositions which all meet one central objective; to ease the financial burden of truck acquisition, now, and throughout the life of the asset.”
In 2014, PACCAR Financial provided tailored finance packages on almost 40% of new DAF truck sales in the UK, equating to an impressive 3,300 registered vehicles. Already in 2015, more than 40% of new DAF vehicle sales have been delivered with funding from PACCAR Financial. The company also boasts a 97% acceptance rate when embarking upon new funding agreements.
DAF MultiSupport
DAF Trucks’ wide-ranging Repair & Maintenance programme, DAF MultiSupport, is now a feature on almost 40% on all new DAF truck sales. Delivered through DAF’s network of over 130 UK dealers, DAF MultiSupport is available in a range of packages to suit a range of operators’ needs – from a basic driveline package where warrantable repairs on the truck’s driveline are carried out for fixed up-front price, through to a fully comprehensive R&M arrangement that includes preventative maintenance, breakdown support, non-driveline repairs and compliance.
DAFaid
Arguably the jewel-in-the-crown in DAF Truck’s customer support portfolio, and with a best-in-business standing among operators, DAFaid stands head-and-shoulders above the competition when it comes to roadside assistance. Its industry leading average time of 96 minutes from initial call to ‘wheels moving’ remains the standard by which other truck marques measured.
DAFaid succeeds in many areas, not least with respect to the more than 130 dealer points across the UK and over 1000 service locations across Europe.
24/7 service, trained incident managers, ‘link and chase’ technology, European coverage with International Truck Service (ITS) – all combine to provide DAF customers with an unrivalled aftersales service.
DAFcheck
With the DVSA’s OCRS system becoming an integral element towards ‘O’ Licence accreditation, operators come under increasing pressure to keep accurate and up-to-date records on vehicle maintenance and inspection.
DAFcheck is a DAF customer’s own web-based, document management system for the recording of a fleet’s inspections, maintenance and service history. Available free-of-charge, DAFcheck provides operators with a dedicated website accessed via an email and password login. As a management tool DAFcheck is becoming quickly recognised as an effective, easy-to-use instrument in the daily effort keep on top of service records, and to remain DVSA compliant – while seriously cutting admin in the process.
