How do hauliers stay in business in such a tough economic climate? By keeping up to date with the licensing regimes, thus minimising their overheads and keeping their trucks on the road. Not only are hauliers facing tough times with rising fuel costs but if transport managers are not up to date and complying with current legislation, they can also face a tough time with VOSA. If trucks are taken off the road by VOSA, then deliveries are not made and customers can be lost.

Hauliers travelled from around the country to Tattenhall to attend the seminar, hosted by Dyne Solicitors Limited, to update themselves on the current operating licensing regime. DSL based in Tattenhall specialise in Transport law and are experts at assisting clients at public enquiries.

The seminar was chaired by Daniel of UK Haulier who commented;
“Keeping hauliers on the road is imperative for the UK’s economic growth, and to do so, hauliers need to be informed not only of regulation, law and other up to date industry information but also to be educated on the services and products that are available to them to help their businesses save money and grow. This seminar had it all.”

Ringway Haulage, who attended the seminar commented;
“It is so important in this day and age to keep our trucks on the road and our customers happy. There is a great regulatory burden on the haulage industry, and an event like this means that you are kept up to date with the legal requirements. It was also a good opportunity to chat to other hauliers.”

DSL are looking to host a similar event in October/November.
