Leading manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK is supplying Shropshire-based refrigerated haulage specialist STS Logistics with two MAN Trucks to Go campaign tractors to meet increasing demand.

Chris Jones, company director, who works alongside co-director, Andrew Morris, opted for two TGX 26.480 6X2/2 BLS with XXL cabs, in addition they featured Dura brite alloy wheels, leather interiors and fridge and were supplied by AN Richards.

Chris explained: “Initially we were looking to buy one MAN TGX as a replacement for a 64 plate we already had in our fleet, but with the fantastic service packages, customer service and part-exchange prices available, they were too good to walk away from and ended up purchasing two.

“We’ve had MANs in our fleet for the past two years and in that time we have experienced very few problems.

“We bought these two vehicles with our drivers in mind. The trucks are smooth to drive, have spacious cabs and are economical. They are reliable, and I can be assured that MAN is on hand if I need them.”

STS Logistics was set up from scratch in 2009 and now provides haulage services for the delivery of frozen and fresh produce across the UK.

Chris continued: “We started off the business with just a couple of second hand trucks and now we have a fleet of 10 vehicles, with the two MAN TGXs as the latest editions. I was a transport manager for 13 years and worked alongside Andrew. We left the company and became partners; the rest they say is history.”

Chris Clee, MAN sales executive, who completed the deal with STS Logistics, said: “The Trucks to Go scheme offers customers the opportunity to acquire ready-built trucks and bodies without the standard factory build lead times.

“For customers such as STS Logistics who were looking for a standard vehicle to fulfill their requirements it provides a speedy and cost effective solution.”

“Because we listen to, and value customer feedback, we are able to resolve any matters arising promptly and STS Logistics know they can count on the team at AN Richards to help wherever and whenever they can.”
