The vehicle, painted in Onpoints’ instantly recognisable Blue and Red livery and named Gemma May, joins the fleet of Eric Elliott Transport, a company Onpoint purchased and added to the group in May 2025.

Resting on top of Alcoa Dura-Bright wheels and mounted to the TGS’s robust chassis is a 15 cubic metre Meiller-Boweld Mightylite (HD) heavy-duty body. Manufactured from Hardox steel, with 4mm side walls and tailgate, and a 5mm floor, the TGS chassis and MightyLite body combination delivers outstanding durability and efficiency.

Of the new vehicle, Anthony Delaney, Sales and Marketing Director, Onpoint Group, said: “When we recently acquired Eric Elliott Transport, Nottingham, we marked a major milestone in our continued growth strategy, and with this, a clear vision of where the Onpoint Group’s customer-focused logistics solutions are heading.

“In joining the fleet, this new MAN TGS helps set the scene highlighting the expansive range of services we can now offer. Being the first tipper to carry the Onpoint livery it’s a vehicle that we’re all very proud of, and now with the addition of bulk haulage, muck-away services, grab hire, walking-floor trailers, aggregates supply, and specialist recycling capabilities, we can deliver a true one-stop-shop for all transport and waste management needs.”

Onpoint’s new TGS 8×4 is powered by MAN’s latest generation 12.4 litre, Euro VI OBD-E D26 engine, producing 440 PS (316 kW). Linked to this is a silky smooth 12 speed MAN TipMatic® automated gearbox, featuring advanced efficiency and off-road software.

To help maximise payload and at the same time supply the driver with a bright and airy, safe and comfortable workplace, Onpoint’s new TGS has been specified with the compact 2,240 mm wide NN cab. This cab sits on top of 8 mm chassis rails, steel front and rear suspension, and Hypoid rear axles, with N3G classification.

Anthony continued, “We’ve heard a lot of good things about the MAN TGS, especially surrounding product robustness, efficiency and reliability. In addition to this, we’ve also heard about MAN’s commitment to customer support and how they offer a partnering approach, something we have witnessed firsthand during the purchase of this vehicle. This partnering approach is appreciated and very much in keeping with how we serve our customers.”

To help assure both the safety of the driver and other third-party road users, Onpoint’s new 8×4 TGS has been specified with a range of driver Assistance Systems, including Turn Assist, MAN AttentionGuard, Front Detection, Traffic sign recognition, Reversing Motion System and MAN’s Distance warning system.

In addition to the aforementioned safety features, this vehicle is also equipped with a 360-degree CCTV camera and the latest technology to meet the DVS (Direct Vision Standards) requirements for FORS Silver accreditation.

Onpoint’s new TGS is also equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-slip control (ASR), Cruise control (CC), Road speed Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Turn assist, MAN AttentionGuard, Front Detection, Traffic sign recognition, Electronic brake system (EBS), and Anti-lock braking system (ABS) Offroad, with off-road logic.

The Meiller-Boweld body comes equipped with Binotto front-end tipping gear, a PM 1155 weighting system, a Twin Cam tailgate locking system, an in-cab audible body raised warning device, and, to ensure load safety, a Flip-Over sheeting system.

Driver comfort includes a 12.3-inch Professional instrumentation, a Multifunction steering wheel, a Comfort air-sprung driver’s seat with lumbar support and shoulder adjustment, Manual air conditioning, and a Sunshade to reduce glare. Infotainment is addressed by a MAN Media System with 7 inch display, Sat-Nav, MAN sound system, and Smartphone integration.

This new TGS joins a fleet of 100+ vehicles on the Onpoint / Eric Elliot Transport fleet. Based in Nottingham and founded in the 1950s, the acquisition of Eric Elliott delivers the Onpoint Group a rich heritage of reliability and service in the haulage and waste removal sectors.

Onpoint Group offers their customers a range of services that include general and contract haulage, event logistics, abnormal loads, moffett mounty services throughout the UK and into Europe, and a full suite of secure warehousing options. In addition, they now offer bulk haulage, muck-away services, grab hire, walking-floor trailers, aggregates supply, and specialist recycling capabilities, not only in Nottinghamshire but across the UK.

They can also offer express palletised distribution through their PalletForce connections, and both Sea and Rail Freight with an established team providing links to import or export Customs clearance at all ports and airports in the UK.

But that’s not all, in addition to the TGS 8×4 tipper, Onpoint has recently ordered 15 New MAN TGX 26.520 6×2 Tractor units. These vehicles, like the TGS, all carry the standout Onpoint livery and will join the 100+ Fleet working out of 3 midland sites. Their day-to-day duties will include contract and general haulage and supporting Onpoints palettforce department.

Anthony added, “When we look at our fleet requirements and business growth strategy, we decided it was a good time to add some new latest generation tractors. Like the TGS we’ve heard good things about the MAN TGX, their reliability, efficiency and high levels of driver comfort.”

“This led to some interesting conversations with MANs New Truck Sales Executive, Arran Bell, surrounding customer support, total costs of ownership forecasts and commitment from MAN to offer an unsurpassed level of service. The result being that the first of 15 new TGXs started  joining the fleet in September.” Concluded Anthony.

All 16 of the new vehicles have been funded by MAN Financial Services.

Arran Bell, New Truck Sales Executive, MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Anthony and the team at the Onpoint Group and to deliver this very special vehicle, the first new TGS tipper to join the group’s fleet.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure that we deliver a vehicle that we know will perform well and meet Onpoint’s and Eric Elliott Transport’s exacting specifications. It’s also hugely gratifying to move forward with an order for 15 new TGX tractors, and when these arrive, these too will receive special attention.”

Onpoint Group’s new vehicles, TGS and TGX, were prepared and PDI’d by MAN’s franchised partner, Aquila Truck Centres Limited of Tipton (DY4 7BY). Aquilla Trucks Centre will service and maintain the vehicles under a full R&M contract throughout their working lives.

All MAN vehicles are supported by MAN Truck & Bus UK’s Nationwide Commercial Vehicle Dealer network, with many operating extended hours, including round-the-clock servicing and customer-tailored solution maintenance.

The entire MAN range benefits from MAN’s Mobile24 24-hour assistance service, which guarantees customers a professional roadside partner throughout Europe 365 days a year.
