In 2015, Welch’s Transport celebrate their 81st year as a quality service-provider, delivering goods across the UK for a broad range of customers such as Hamleys, Autoglym, Ardex UK Ltd and Paperchase.

In order to plan for future growth and to attract enthusiastic and loyal drivers, they are running an open day on Saturday 24 January 2015 where they hope to recruit both sexes onto a structured apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will include both on the job and off-site training, mentored throughout its three-year duration and will lead to a nationally recognised qualification. It will include a period in the warehouse, leading to a fork-lift licence, exposure to the traffic office, commercial awareness and customer care training; all with a focus on health and safety. From here, it will progress to the achievement of a Class 2 HGV licence with the ultimate objective of gaining a Class 1 licence (articulated 44 tonne vehicle) and joining the Welch’s team, full-time.

This is an exciting opportunity for young people to get into the industry, so if you are physically fit, motivated to learn and take on responsibility, customer-focussed and hard-working, please register your attendance at the open day by e-mailing gerrylear@welchgroup.co.uk.
