A RUNAWAY lorry careered down a busy residential road, bouncing off 17 parked cars before ploughing into a house.
Astonished Reigate residents say it is a miracle no one was hurt as the out-of-control heavy goods vehicle narrowly missed crashing into a children’s hairdressers on Monday at around 11.40pm and demolished a homeowner’s wall instead.
Residents could only look on anxiously as police cordoned off the area amid fears the crash could have severed a gas main, or left the building in danger of collapse.
An estimated £250,000 of damage was caused in less than a minute.
