GB Railfreight and Network Rail would like to invite you to visit Network Rail’s Tonbridge depot on 12th December, where you will be able to view the locomotives and railhead treatment trains (RHTTs) involved in the southern region’s key seasonal treatment operations.

GBRf’s class 73s and the network operator’s RHTTs are part of a programme to improve railhead conditions throughout the Autumn, cleaning lines with high-pressure water jets to aid traction.

Large parts of the Tonbridge site were specifically built to maintain the RHTTs, including two additional roads, lighting, the holdfast crossing and water tank, amongst other things.

Network Rail’s National Supply Chain Regional Business Manager, Adam Doy, and GB Railfreight’s Infrastructure & Rail Services Business Manager, Paul Taylor, will take you on a tour of the site, detailing the specific work undertaken by the trains and locomotives and showcasing some of the maintenance procedures.

For those of you interested in attending, please can you RSVP to James Clark on james.clark@westbournecoms.com or 020 3397 0148.
