DAF now offers the Euro 6 CF with the PACCAR PX-7 engine in three new 3-axle configurations. These combine a higher payload with the efficiency of the 6.7-litre six-cylinder engine.

The first new addition to the CF range with the PACCAR PX-7 engine is the FAR, featuring a 7.5-tonne trailing axle with single wheels behind the 11.5-tonne drive axle. This gives the 26 tonne GVW vehicle a body and payload allowance of almost 19 tonnes. The second addition is the FAS which has twin tyres on the rearmost axle for heavier duty applications such as hook loaders.

The new models are ideal for payload critical applications in local and regional distribution, including the transportation of food products, building materials, chilled goods and livestock.

Maximum manoeuvrability

Specially designed for applications requiring a higher payload coupled with maximum manoeuvrability, the FAN is the third configuration now offered with the PACCAR PX-7 engine. This is ideally suited to operation in the most confined spaces and on delicate surfaces as it offers the tightest turning circle both unladen and laden with minimum tyre-scrub.

All the new models with the trailing rear axle are available with Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Space Cab.

6.7-litre PACCAR PX-7-engine

What the new variants have in common is the 6.7-litre six-cylinder PACCAR PX-7 engine in power ratings of 208 kW/283 hp or 231 kW/314 hp. A manual 9-speed transmission is offered as standard with an AS Tronic automated 12-speed gearbox available as an option. For higher performance and the possibility of drawbar operation up to 44 tonnes GTW, the CF three-axle models are, of course, still available with the 10.8-litre PACCAR MX-11 engine and the 12.9-litre PACCAR MX-13 engine. Production of the new models with the PX-7 engine will start in early November but they can be ordered now.
