Turners’ Container Division had its new Southampton depot opened by the Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Sue Blatchford.

Customers and staff from the region were hosted by Karl Rolfe, General Manager Container Division, and Graham Hall, the Division’s new Southern Area Manager.

The pictures show Councillor Sue Blatchford and Graham Hall ‘Cutting the ribbon’ and also experiencing the view from one of Southampton’s latest Trucks that recently entered service.

This further investment reflects Turners confidence to grow with its existing and new Customer base from the rapidly expanding Container port in Southampton.

Recently secured contracts will see future expansion in the truck fleet based at the new depot which is located within the Freightliner site, Millbrook Point road, Southampton, SO15 0AB.

Graham Hall, who has only recently joined the Turners team at Southampton, will be introducing further support to complement the current operation which, at present, runs over sixty trucks. This will include designated Driver Training helping to improve safety and truck efficiencies while reducing our Environmental impact.

In conjunction with The Isle of Wight College, a ‘Young persons’ apprentice scheme’ will start in May aimed at offering individuals wide and varied job opportunities within a busy transport operation.

This new larger depot not only increases the area for truck parking but improves office facilities and drivers’ rest areas.

Our Southampton operations links in with our other container depots strategically located at Felixstowe, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Tilbury offering existing and potential Customers a total UK service from both Railheads and Ports.
