Scania (Great Britain) Limited has become the inaugural winner of Scania’s Innovation Award. This prestigious award forms part of the Application Awards 2020, a newly-established global celebration of success created by Scania CV AB to promote best-practice in matching the company’s products to specific transport applications.
In announcing the award, the scheme’s judges said: “The award for innovative application goes to Scania (Great Britain) Limited for introducing the Scania L-series into a number of new applications. They have worked creatively to fully utilise a cab designed for tight city conditions and introduce it into a range of sectors, including refuse collectors, flatbeds with cranes, aerial platforms, general cargo, aircraft refuelling, fire appliances, tippers and mixers.
Commenting on the win, Scania’s UK Sales Director Vincente Connolly says, “We’re proud and delighted to win this award. Our teams have collectively worked hard to bring this product to market creatively, so it’s fantastic to receive this global recognition. In addition to all the inherent qualities associated with the Scania brand, the L-series’ offers great visibility, easy access in and out of the cab, and a visually-attractive low profile – all of which are excellent attributes for vehicles operating in urban areas.
