Davies Turner is supporting China correspondents with compliance of the call of prevention and control of the coronavirus by guaranteeing the health and safety of colleagues and their families in China.

The extension of the Chinese New Year Holiday (until 2nd February) has been announced by The General Office of the State Council, with municipalities such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Guangzhou and Shenzhen already having announced an extension and compulsory closure of businesses up to 9th February.

Davies Turner’s partners in China are currently planning a resumption of work in compliance with government guidelines, whilst activating on-line contact and remote operations management, adapting procedures and contingency plans according to the ongoing situation.

Ports, airports, rail and China customs are still operating as normal during the Chinese New Year holiday period (except Wuhan which remains largely locked down). However, congestion is expected due to the limited number of trailers available.

“We will continue to keep you updated and will do our utmost to minimize the impact to your business. We would additionally urge you to monitor media / government body outlets for developments as the situation evolves, as well as keeping in touch with your suppliers”, states Davies Turner.
