Speedy Freight, the UK’s leading provider of urgent or sensitive transport has launched a new branch in York.  Under the management of Simon Chorlton – business owner of Speedy Freight’s Hull and Doncaster franchises – the new branch will generate up to 20 jobs for locals and provide a tailor-made responsive service for the business community.

Chorlton, who opened the Doncaster and Hull branches in 2016 says “I’m excited to launch in York and take our knowledge and experience into a new area, where I am sure we will be equally successful.”

“We are now recruiting up to 20 owner drivers – mostly of vans, to our preferred driver group” says Chorlton.

“We have access to 4,000 vehicles around the country and we can deliver anything from an urgent medical sample to the essential bricks to keep a construction site going,” says Chorlton. “We operate a dedicated service, which means we will only carry one client’s goods on board at a time and we go direct from the collection address to the delivery address, ensuring consignments travel safely and securely.”

“It’s a very cost-effective service for customers who need things doing fast,” says Chorlton. “We all have those occasions where something needs to get there nowand our system guarantees clients that premium service with only a marginal extra cost compared to a planned, shared-platform logistics service which would typically deliver within 48 hours.”
