South Wales Mercedes-Benz Vans Dealer Euro Commercials is aiming to raise its profile on the national stage after appointing its first Business Development Manager.

Liam Nicholas returns to the company he left in 2015, with a brief to win new orders for vehicles bearing the three-pointed star from van operators based throughout the country.

The role represents an exciting challenge for Liam, who has spent the last four years working as a New Business Manager for Northgate Vehicle Hire. It also means a return to his home city of Cardiff, where Euro Commercials opened a £2-million, ‘best-in-class’ Mercedes-Benz Van Sales Centre in 2016.

Liam began his first stint with the Dealer in 2011 and worked as an Aftersales Representative before embarking on the manufacturer’s Trucks Sales Trainee course, from which he qualified in 2013.

“It’s great to be back at Euro Commercials and working exclusively with the Mercedes-Benz Vans brand,” enthused Liam. “I’m relishing the opportunity to build our fleet business portfolio by winning new customers and then providing the exceptional service levels that will ensure we keep them for life.”

He continued: “There’s been a lot of investment in the light commercial vehicle sales operation here at the Dealership, and these have coincided with some fantastic developments within the Mercedes-Benz Vans range.

“For example, with its ground-breaking 4G internet connectivity the new Sprinter is the most advanced van on the road, and offers huge advantages to the fleet customers I’m now targeting. As well as leading the field in terms of reliability, driver appeal and safety, it features Mercedes PRO connect technology which provides customers with access to a range of fast, efficient, and cost-effective vehicle management services.

“It’s inspiring to be able to go out to the market with products like these, and to be representing Euro Commercials once again – it’s a company that’s really going places, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in its success.”

Euro Commercials Van Sales Director Paul Cox added: “I can’t recall the last time I was this excited about an appointment. We know Liam and rate him very highly, which is why we’ve been trying to coax him back to the Dealership for some time.

“He’s a total professional, with the perfect skills set and knowledge of the marketplace required for our new fleet sales role. Just as importantly, he also has a real hunger and determination to succeed, and treats every phone call and meeting as though they’re the most important he’s ever made or attended. I’ve every confidence that we’ve landed the right man for the job.”
