For over 90 years, The Cullimore Group’s name has been prominent across the aggregates and road haulage sector. Now its MD is poised to be part of driving the UK industry further forward, with Managing Director Moreton Cullimore being successfully elected for two key roles within the Road Haulage Association’s (RHA) national network.

Already settling into his role as the newly-elected regional chairman of the RHA’s Bristol and Gloucestershire sub-region, Moreton will be taking up a national position within the RHA’s Main Board of Directors, one of only thirteen members in the country, as the Senior Vice-Chairman of the Midlands and South regional council. This role will officially commence in May.

As well as representing the interests of member firms in the road haulage sector from the South West, Moreton will be at the forefront of driving change across the industry nationally in terms of policy and best practice. Equally important will be bringing issues to the attention of the Government and using his influence and reputation to draw in new RHA members to continue the body’s work.

As the only UK trade association dedicated solely to the needs of UK road transport operators, the RHA strives to deliver best in class knowledge and expertise to its members.

Having followed in his father’s footsteps in 2010 on becoming MD, Moreton has overseen change and development at the family firm. The 100-strong company now operates across five sites throughout the South West and Cotswolds, has strengthened its portfolio of haulage and related services and undergone significant investment in terms of technology and systems.

A proud ambassador for the aggregates and the haulage industries, Moreton has long championed a number of national and regional issues, from local planning protocols and workforce development to environmental and land restoration.

It’s an honour for me to be elected to the RHA’s Board of Directors,” says Moreton. “It is important that someone champions and speaks up for local grassroot transport companies, a taken-for-granted service provider. I intend to push all our issues to the highest levels without compromise. I’ve always campaigned for best practice across the haulage and aggregates industry, whether that’s for procedures and safety or making operators aware of their corporate and environmental responsibilities.  I’m confident that my contribution to the RHA will allow me to give back to the sector some of my own experience as well that of my family’s 90-year old firm, with a particular focus obviously on the aggregates sector.
