Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of O’Donovan Waste Disposal, has joined a prestigious group at the 2018 Fellows’ gowning of the Institute of Couriers (IoC) at the House of Lords. Jacqueline is one of the waste, logistics, and construction sectors’ most passionate pioneers of employee training, industry best practice and the safety of all road users. She received the respected hood of fellowship in recognition of her vision for freight in the final mile environment. The annual event sees figures in the Transport industry honoured and the 2018 Fellows’ gowning included a new vice president, a ‘services to industry’ and twelve new fellows of the IoC who all were ceremonially gowned by IoC president Viscount, Lord Falkland on the terrace of the House of Lords.
The 2018 Honorary fellow is TfL former head of surface transport Leon Daniels. Also included was Carole Walker, neé Woodhead, boss of Hermes & Moya Green Royal Mail chief. Kate Lester of Diamond Logistics received her 2017 services to industry hood. Former transport Minister John Hayes joined Steve Norris and David Jamieson to be given a Vice President’s hood.
Lord Falkland handed out the 2018 twelve fellowships, welcoming several influential Leaders including Jacqueline into the institute to form part of the 2018 dozen ceremonial hoods. Guests included the Master Carmen, Sir Peter Hendy, Traffic Commissioner Sarah Bell and CILT boss Beverley Bell, Alex Farkas DWP and hon fellow, Vice Chancellor of Staffordshire University, Prof Liz Barnes. Existing fellows will form a line following a tradition to welcome the new twelve.

IOC president, Lord Falkland stated, ‘I welcome Jacqueline to House of Lords for her IOC gown, this recognises her work with FORS, CLOCS and LoCity in a focus supporting final mile vision.’
