Transdek UK, the double deck innovator, has appointed Paul Avery to the new role of Managing Director (MD) – Trailers as the company continues to expand its innovative double deck trailer operations to meet increasing demand.

Avery joins Transdek from Montracon, a manufacturer of refrigerated, dry-freight and flat semi-trailers, where he was also MD. Prior to this he worked from 1999 to 2015 at Schmitz Cargobull, a German trailer and truck bodies manufacturer, progressing from Engineering Manager to MD.

With a wealth of experience covering more than 35-years in commercial vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing, in addition to business management, Avery will be responsible for increasing sales of Transdek double deck trailers and developing trailer manufacturing at the company’s Harworth site. This will involve driving output with a longer-term view of establishing a new facility dedicated to trailer production.

Avery said of his appointment: “I am very excited by the vision of Transdek founder Mark Adams, regarding changing the double deck and single deck markets offering a complete logistics solution. All of Transdek’s products deliver such a speedy return on investment for customers, through substantial operational cost savings. The company is an innovator, not a follower, and as an engineer this provides me with a very unique opportunity.”

The company has also restructured its senior management team, with Sales Director Leon Butler promoted to the new position of MD of Modular Loading Solutions and Mark Adams, FCLIT, becoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Butler, who has been with Transdek for over 12-years and held a variety of roles in operations and engineering management, will focus on loading bay technologies and the double deck lifts business, which works seamlessly with the trailer operations to deliver an integrated logistics solution.

“At Transdek, we like to innovate, to push the boundaries and to challenge and improve on established technologies,” said Butler. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of providing loading bay products and solutions that make transport and logistics operations more streamlined and efficient for new and existing customers.”

As CEO of Transdek, Adams will be responsible for the overall business strategy, lead the development of innovative double deck solutions and drive the continued growth of the company’s wide-ranging client base.

Adams commented: “I’m delighted we’ve strengthened the management team at the start of 2018. Paul brings a wealth of trailer experience with him to drive forward the growth of our award winning trailer products, and Leon has an exceptional overview of the interface between transport, the loading bay and warehousing that will support the continued success of our innovative modular lifts. The new structure will allow us to develop even more efficient logistics solutions for our customers.”
