Thompson Commercials Sheffield has won first place in the Renault Trucks ‘The Big Challenge’ for eXchange part sales, competing against more than 240 Renault Trucks dealers from across Europe to successfully raise awareness of the value, quality and performance of the 2,000-strong reconditioned range, which have all been designed and approved for Renault Trucks’ vehicles.

Teamwork was at the heart of Thompson Commercials Sheffield’s winning performance, as Depot Manager Dominic Havercroft explained: “The whole parts team were up for the challenge from the start, which made the difference. A big ‘thank you’ to all the lads in the team – their hard work and determination have put Thompson Commercials on the podium !”

Jason Ball, Group General Manager for Aftersales, explained that this achievement is testament to Dominic, who has recently re-joined Thompson Commercials Sheffield, and his team for the determination shown in all areas of the business since his appointment. Jason said: “A huge ‘well done’ to all involved, keep up the good work and I’m sure this will be the first of many awards for our Sheffield Depot !”

Congratulating Thompson Commercials Sheffield on its success, Renault Trucks UK’s Commercial Director, Nigel Butler, said: “Winning first place in this European-wide competition is a phenomenal achievement for both Thompson Commercials Sheffield and for Renault Trucks UK.”

Nigel continued: “Thompson’s success in ‘The Big Challenge’ is testament to the efforts we have made so far in improving our aftersales service delivery across the network. Indeed, eXchange parts play a key role in our general Parts availability, which is now at 93% over the counter and at 99% with our Rugby central stocks included.”

He also added, “We are also delighted to see Allports, our dealer in Stoke-on-Trent, scoop second place, ahead of Belgian and Russian dealers.”

With Renault Trucks’ eXchange system any worn, safety-critical or deteriorated parts are replaced with certified original parts, whilst industrial reconditioning and bench-tested characteristics allow each part to retain its original performance. This activity is part of the sustainable development policy of Renault Trucks through parts recycling.

All of the 2,000-strong eXchange product range meet the same quality and performance standards as new products, which allows every eXchange part to carry an International one-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

As a reward for their endeavours, the participants from the winning team will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Chamonix in February 2018.
