GB Railfreight (GBRf), one of the UK’s leading rail freight companies, has won a contract with J Clubb Ltd, the British-based aggregates and concrete company. The contract will see GBRf move ash from Cottam Power Stations in Nottinghamshire to the HH Celcon brick works in Borough Green, near Sevenoaks in Kent.
The first train ran on 4th July 2017 and the contract will last for 12 months. GBRf will be transporting the ash for use in the manufacture of ‘aircrete’ blocks, which are then used in building and construction.

GB Railfreight has a fleet of over 130 locomotives and 1,100 wagons, providing a wide range of rail transport solutions and rail services to its customers. Its team of 650 people operates over 1,000 trainloads a week, moving 15% of the UK’s rail freight.
