Global health and electrical products manufacturer HoMedics has renewed its 10-year contract with Bibby Distribution, thanks to the 3PL’s commitment to continuous service improvement, resulting in a 99.67 per cent error-free delivery rate.
Bibby Distribution has provided transport and warehouse services for HoMedics since 2007, distributing consumer products such as air purifiers, humidifiers, foot spas and massagers from a 275,000 sq. ft. site in Scunthorpe to major retailers across the UK including Amazon, Argos, HMV, John Lewis and Tesco.
As part of the contract, Bibby Distribution created a new in-house e-commerce division within HoMedics which now handles approximately 50,000 B2C orders every year with products ranging from home massagers and slimming goods to scales, audio products and electronics.
HoMedics has also benefited from continual improvement year-on-year in terms of the numbers of units processed per hour, and Bibby Distribution is exploring new technologies to further improve productivity during the pick-and-pack process.

HoMedics’ goods are imported, mainly from China and head to a distribution centre in the UK before being picked, labelled and delivered to customers by Bibby Distribution.
