From their Wimbledon SW19 depot A-B 24/7 offer a comprehensive event transportation service both across the capital, further afield throughout the UK and occasionally into Europe

Chris Godly, Managing Director at A-B 24/7 said: “Our journey to replace our fleet started at the Commercial Vehicle show in April 2018, an event where we could see all vehicle marques and meet the manufacturers under one roof. During the initial conversations with MAN it was instantly apparent that they both understood our needs and offered more than just a new vehicle sales function; their approach was very much about becoming a partner and developing greater understanding and trust, something of key importance within our business.
“Long wheelbase vans have always been the chosen workhorse for our Event Transport and Urgent Delivery services. Our vans support a wide range of event suppliers, event organisers and businesses with deliveries within London, the length and breadth of the UK, as well as further into Europe and in choosing MAN we feel that we have the right vans for the job.”
The new A-B 24/7 MAN fleet, all 3.5 tonne front wheel drive 3.140 TGE models, consists of 10 Long wheelbase high roof’s TGE’s, offering 14.4 m³ of internal load space, 2 extra-long wheelbase high roof’s TGE’s, offering 16.4 m³ of internal load space, and, a JC Payne Luton bodied TGE chassis cab with tail lift.
Chris Godly continued: “As an environmentally aware and responsible business fuel economy and low vehicle emissions is of top priority and we expect both low total cost of ownership and low pollution emissions from our fleet. ULEZ and Euro 6 compliance is our benchmark and our new MAN vans tick all the right boxes for us.
“One crucial factor in our selection of the MAN TGE van is that it comes with highly-developed software and technology. We are very impressed with the technology available, especially in regards to driver and vehicle safety, which was a high priority on our shopping list. Ensuring our drivers, co-drivers and third party pedestrians stay safe all our vehicles have been specified with additional reversing cameras, manoeuvring sensors and blind spot warning systems.
MAN TGE’s come equipped with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) as standard. The EBA system issues a visual and audible warning in the event that a driver doesn’t react to an approaching hazard and if necessary, activates the brakes. ABS and ESP are also standard, as is both Crosswind Assist, which ensures the vehicle stays in its lane in case of a side wind or on a laterally sloped road surface, and Multi-collision Brake which ensures the vehicle fully brakes when a collision is detected to prevent further accidents.
All of A-B 24/7’s MAN TGE’s are covered by the comprehensive standard TGE three-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty. The new A-B 24/7 fleet was supplied by PCL Group of Maidstone and all 13 vehicles were funded by MAN Financial Services.

We’re a 24 hour business so if one of our vehicles is off the road it affects our customer service level, so it’s essential that we have reliable cover in place, not only close to home in London, but Nationwide across the UK and in Europe too.

The benefits of air conditioning, when stuck in London traffic on a hot afternoon, has gone down exceptionally well, especially during the recent record-breaking temperatures. Our specification of suitable driver aids has not only improved both our drivers’ comfort, but also makes taking deliveries to where there is tight access a lot simpler.”
