Flogas Britain Ltd, a leading supplier of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) to both households and businesses in the UK, has been supplied a quantity of new tri-axle semi-trailers by Cartwright.

A long-term customer of Cartwright, the company, which has its Head Office in Leicester, delivers LPG (including propane and butane) across the country, either in bottled gas or bulk supply.

Cartwright has extensive experience of manufacturing trailers for companies in the gas bottle distribution sector. This is a very specialist industry, as the operation involved in collecting and delivering gas bottles is very labour intensive, with a high priority on safety of operation and load retention. Gas bottles come in varying sizes and can weigh up to 47 kilos.

Cartwright’s bespoke design, specifically for the Flogas logistics operation, enables the company to have a multi-functional load with several different configurations. This allows for the collection of the empty gas bottles and drop off of the full bottles in a time-efficient and safe manner, with the bottles safely secured and stowed when on the trailer.

Jason Lynch, Purchasing Manager at Flogas, commented: “Here at Flogas, customer service is our top priority – so running an effective logistics operation is crucial. With over 350 vehicles on the road every day, we need to make sure our fleet is equipped to transport gas safely, reliably and on time. That’s why we’ve chosen Cartwright trailers. The trailers are exceptional. There is no question about it. Cartwright gets it right first time.”
