Cartwright Group has been named for the second year running as one of the fastest-growing private mid-market companies in the UK.

It has been listed in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.

The company made its debut in the list last year, having been named as one of ten “Ones to Watch” – companies bubbling just below the threshold – in 2016.

The Altrincham-based trailer manufacturer, now in its 66th year, has expanded operations beyond its manufacturing roots to offer rental, fleet services, and finance to become a true ‘one-stop shop’ for trailer needs, as well as launching an export drive and diversifying into conversions and airport ground support equipment.

Turnover rose last year to £149.7 million, up 7.85% from the previous year, and is on track for further growth.

Mark Cartwright, Group Managing Director of Cartwright Group, said: “I am delighted that the Cartwright Group has been included in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.

“To be listed for the second year running is great achievement and I would like to thank all of our people who have worked so hard to make Cartwright such a success.

“People are at the heart of our operations, delivering excellence for our customers, and we are looking forward to further growth and expansion with their support.”

It is the latest in a long line of accolades for Cartwright.

The company scooped Most Innovative Product of the Year in the FTA Logistics Awards this year for its new Streetwise semi-trailer that is set to transform High Street deliveries.

The success of its ambitious apprenticeship scheme, launched in 2012, was recognised officially when it appeared in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the National Apprenticeship Awards two years ago.

This year saw the company take on the largest number of apprentices since the scheme began, and launch two new apprenticeships, underlining its commitment to investing in people for future success.
