Leading trailer and commercial vehicle body builder Cartwright has built a new machine carrier trailer for JMC Scotland. As Scotland’s leading provider of powered access platforms, JMC depends on high quality machine carriers for their operation to carry a wide range of plant equipment, tele-handlers, construction site machines and high access equipment across the UK.

The trailer was designed to cope with the demands of the JMC’s operation, with a ventilated Beavertail design to improve aerodynamics and limit and improve fuel economy. The full width ramp was designed to allow a wide variety of equipment to be carried and features a twin-hydraulic folding arrangement that lowers to an acute angle, allowing vehicles with low ground clearance to be loaded without difficulty. The trailer also features pull up lashing rings and additional anchor points for bow shackles along the underside to meet the load restraint requirements.

John Craig Managing Director of JMC Scotland commenting on the machine carrier’s versatility said: “The trailer is very good. We are happy with the quality and we have had all sorts on it including agricultural equipment, plant and forklifts. I haven’t come up against anything we can’t have on it. It is our first order with Cartwright and they are a good company to work with.”

Cartwright were proud to exhibit JMC’s trailer at the recent ‘Tip-Ex Conference’, carrying   telehandlers and high access scissor lifts.

Designing and manufacturing trailers and commercial vehicle bodies to their customer’s exact requirements is key to the Cartwright Group success. With one of the largest product portfolios in the commercial vehicle market, the Group produces a range of specialist build trailers to transport fork lift trucks, livestock and industrial equipment in addition to their established range of double and single deck temperature controlled range, curtainsiders, box vans and commercial vehicle bodies.
