Glasgow-based 3D Transport has turned to Ryder for maintenance and servicing on its diversified fleet.

Ryder has an existing relationship with 3D Transport, supplying its core fleet of Daf LF150s and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans for its home delivery work throughout Scotland.

3D owner Mark Hutchison decided to diversify his business and has taken on two Daf CF440 concrete mixers, working for Tarmac across the central belt of Scotland. While he sourced the mixers independently, he has turned to Ryder for their servicing and maintenance.

He explains: “I had an existing relationship with Ryder and knew that they were a Daf specialist, so it made sense to keep it all of my fleet’s maintenance under one roof. Ryder understands my business’s needs: I don’t want any downtime on any of my vehicles, so out-of-hours servicing is really important. At the end of the day, we drive a mixer to Ryder, which supplies a van to allow my driver to get back to our yard and then back to them the next morning to pick the mixer up.”

Hutchison adds: “Also, I like that extra service, whereby I’m emailed by Ryder once the work is done. The email details the work carried out and any issues that need to monitored, which means I can be proactive.”

John Murray, Ryder sales & marketing director, says: “Our partnership with 3D Transport highlights that, at Ryder, we understand how important it is to be flexible and to understand operators’ needs. 3D can concentrate on its core operations, while Ryder services and maintains its vehicles to a high standard.”
