Transmec UK is eyeing further growth with the appointment of a new branch manager at its West Thurrock headquarters.

Imran Mohammed, who has worked for the logistics company for 18 years, takes on the role having previously been UK finance director.

UK general manager, John Simkins, said: “Imran is the ideal person to help us build on the record results we achieved last year. He has an in-depth knowledge of the business and knows the team at West Thurrock extremely well.

“He is also well placed to help clients manage the implications of Brexit, having been instrumental in our planning and the achievement of full Authorised Economic Operator (AEOF) status.”

Imran is relishing the opportunities presented by his new role.

“The quality of the team and Transmec Group’s branch network across the UK and the rest of Europe means there’s a strong foundation in place,” he said.

“The team certainly shares my passion for delivering excellent service and building partnerships. We’ll continue to go the extra mile, demonstrating our flexibility in providing the tailored transport and logistics solutions that our customers require.”

Transmec UK’s four depots at West Thurrock, Bradford, Redditch and Worcester provide a range of bespoke logistics services in addition to scheduled road transport direct to 12 countries. These include daily weekday groupage services, inbound and outbound, between the UK and branches in Italy, Benelux, France, Germany, Turkey and Romania.

Headquartered in Modena, Italy, Transmec Group has 40 branches in 14 countries worldwide and a turnover of 300 million euros.
