Powys-based Speed Welshpool, a leading UK transport and third-party logistics specialist, has secured a contract with commercial furniture supplier, Tabilo.

Speed Welshpool, a member of Palletways, the UK’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has been appointed to handle a substantial volume of pallets every month, and input them into the Palletways network for delivery across the whole of the UK.

Neil Owen, operations manager at Tabilo, said: “The team at Speed Welshpool have been extremely supportive, with a can-do approach from the outset. They’ve provided us with a first-class service, expertly handling any queries or requests they’ve been faced with, and we’d recommend them to any businesses requiring delivery service.

“We also appreciate that Speed Welshpool is a part of the Palletways network, as the IT systems are a real game-changer. Consignments are easy to track, and ETA speeds up our handling of customer queries – which ultimately helps to achieve significant cost savings. Being connected to the network also offers a lot of opportunities for growth thanks to the wide geographical coverage of Palletways in the UK and Europe.”

George Edwards, managing director at Speed Welshpool, added: “We couldn’t be happier to support a local business by partnering with Tabilo. At Speed Welshpool, we recognise that we are the extension of our customer’s business and this is what sets us apart from our competitors.

“We strive to offer exceptional customer service in an extremely competitive climate and our new contract is a testament to the hard work our team carries out on a daily basis. We believe this new partnership fits in well with our vision to be the natural choice and leading carrier in the area.”

In addition to palletised freight, Speed Welshpool, which joined the Palletways network in 2008, offers a bespoke logistics and haulage service, including the handling of parcels and irregular freight.

Speed Welshpool is one of over 115 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.   The Palletways Group comprises 450+ depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 20 European countries, including the UK.
