Anglia Freight, a family-run Suffolk logistics business, is delivering its own success this year, with increased turnover, record freight volumes and an industry award win for its pallet based service. The last 6-months has seen their continued rapid growth, outstanding customer service levels and consistent performance.

Anglia Freight achieved a £10 million annual turnover last year (2016/17), having doubled in less than four years. This remarkable growth has continued in 2017, with the half-year running well ahead of this level. In September and October, Anglia Freight handled record freight volumes 30% above this time last year, carrying their greatest ever number of pallets of goods for the Palletline network. Palletline is a hub based palletised freight distribution network operating across the UK and Europe.

Douglas Shawcross, Managing Director of Anglia Freight, commented, “Having operated from Suffolk for 25 years, this is an exciting time for us, coming on the back of the expansion of our facilities and vehicle fleet last year. We are seeing more businesses across the East of England welcome our high levels of service and performance, with many new clients joining us.”

In the summer, it achieved recognition for its high levels of service to customers by gaining the “Palletline Service Award 2016-17”, against 87 other logistics service depots across the UK. Graham Leitch, Managing Director of Palletline, stated “This Service Award for Anglia Freight is very well-deserved. The whole team have consistently given their customers an outstanding level of service, and coped exceptionally well during difficult periods of highly variable demand.”

Douglas Shawcross concluded: “We have developed a new vision for the business and recently launched our new website, as we look towards further growth in the run up to Christmas. Our ethos is continued investment for continued improvement and this investment in service and quality for our customers is driving our performance.”

Anglia Freight are one of the region’s leading logistics companies and work with businesses across the east of England to manage their demanding delivery requirements, moving freight by road, sea and air across the UK and around the globe.
