Birmingham-based Carexp Logistics has joined the Fortec Distribution Network to expand its service offering to customers.

The company is covering part of the B postcode area in the Birmingham area.

Launched by Director Phil Cole in 2008, Carexp Logistics began its business journey with just one man and one vehicle, handling air freight out of Birmingham and Heathrow airports.

Today the company specialises in air freight, sea freight and time critical services. It employs 15 people and operates 15 vehicles, ranging from a Ford Connect van to an artic double deck trailer, serving 130 customers out of an 8,000 sq ft site at Birmingham Airport.

Alex Cole, Phil’s son, said this was the first time Carexp Logistics had joined a pallet network.

He said: “We took the decision to join Fortec due to our increased workload. Also being part of a network will allow us to expand our service offering to new and existing customers.”

Alex said Carexp Logistics regularly handles wide ranging goods. Among the more unusual deliveries was a 20 tonne Rolls Royce aerospace engine.

Adrian Bradley, Managing Director of the Fortec Distribution Network, said: “Carexp Logistics is a great fit for Fortec. Like ourselves and as with all our members, Phil and his team are dedicated to offering the best service to each and every customer, however large or small their requirements.

“We are delighted to have Carexp Logistics join the network and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship in which they and ourselves will continue to prosper.”
