Having never utilised their girder bridge to transport transformers from this Stafford manufacturing facility in the past, Collett mobilised to the West Midlands. Arriving in modular form at the site, the Collett team constructed the girder bridge before loading the 216 tonne cargo.
Departing site on Sunday the team travelled the 35 miles to overnight at Davenport. Under Police and private escort throughout, the following day Collett’s convoy completed the journey to Ellesmere Port, concluding the 70 mile journey and offloading the transformer to the port storage area.
The team at Collett have already returned to Stafford to undertake the second movement, with the third scheduled for mid-November.
