Samuel Grant Packaging has taken delivery of two DAF CF220 curtainsided trucks from Ryder with an enhanced livery that highlights their 2018 Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Samuel Grant has distribution centres in Leeds, Newcastle, and Sheffield from which it delivers just-in-time packaging solutions, from rolls of tape to complete supply chain solutions, to customers nationwide. One of the new trucks operates from Newcastle and the other from Leeds.

Ryder has partnered with Samuel Grant for 15 years and supplies the majority of its vehicle fleet. In addition to the supply of two new vehicles, Ryder has arranged for the enhanced livery to be applied to the rest of Samuel Grant’s fleet.

The business received the Queen’s Award last year for its innovative pallet-wrapping solution, the Samson Nano, which supplies real-time data on pallet wrapping use to both the customer and Samuel Grant. The Queen’s Award is given to businesses that excel in innovation, sustainable development or international trade, and it is the highest official UK award for British companies.

Andrew Grant, Joint Managing Director at Samuel Grant, said: “We’re proud to add the Queen’s Award so prominently to our trucks’ livery. It acts as a reminder to our customers of our commitment to innovation.”

He added: “Ryder delivers good service, and they’re helpful to work with.”

Jim Agnew, Ryder Area Sales Manager, said: “It’s a pleasure working with Samuel Grant and we are delighted to help them celebrate their Queen’s Award win.”
