Ryder is supplying six new high-specification DAF tractor units, and 13 new trailers, to nationwide distribution specialist Law Distribution, part of the Palletline network. The new tractor units and trailers are in addition to in excess of 40 vehicles and trailers already leased to Law Distribution by Ryder.
The new tractors are the latest, second generation Euro 6 DAF XF480 6×2 Super Spacecab units and will be utilised as part of Law Distribution’s national distribution fleet. They are being supplied on a six-year contract hire basis with full maintenance.
As part of this latest agreement, Ryder is also supplying 10 new SDC-built 13.7m length tri-axle curtainside trailers, and three new SDC-built 13.7m length tri-axle double-deck curtainside trailers. All of the trailers are fitted with Microlise tracking as standard, and are being supplied on a five-year contract hire basis with full maintenance.
Complementing the supply of trailers on contract hire, Ryder provides Law Distribution with Microlise-equipped peak demand rental trailers to support the nationwide distribution specialist’s operational demands.
John Law, Transport Manager for Law Distribution, said: “We have been working with Ryder since 1994. They have supported our continued growth and know our business well and what we are looking for from our vehicle fleet.
“These latest DAF tractor units come with improved fuel efficiency, which was a major consideration for us. Our vehicles run extensively long routes and are worked extremely hard, so having the right vehicles is key. Ryder also provides the extensive nationwide service coverage and back up that we need to ensure we maximise uptime and efficiency.
“The high specification of these latest DAFs also ensures our drivers are well catered for when undertaking high mileage operations and being away overnight. The new tractors look fantastic and will be great ambassadors for the Law Distribution fleet.”
John Murray, Ryder Sales and Marketing Director, said: “We’re very proud of our enduring relationship with Law Distribution. Our engineers have worked closely with Law Distribution to ensure they receive the right power units and trailers to meet their operational needs, including rental assets to support their peak requirements.
“The specification of Microlise tracking as standard on the trailers supports Law Distribution’s operational requirement for full visibility regarding the location of all of their assets. This maximises uptime and ensures maintenance schedules, and compliance, are maintained.
“We look forward to continuing to support Law Distribution’s transportation needs and the further growth of their business.”
