Culina Group, a market-leading chilled and ambient food and drink warehousing, distribution and transport specialist in the UK and Ireland, has added eight new Renault Trucks Range T460 6x2s to its 1000+ tractor unit and 2000+ trailer fleet.

Supplied by BRS Limited on a full contract hire package including maintenance, tax and tyres and a mileage inclusion of 160,000kpa, these latest additions join 60+ other Range Ts on the fleet and will be operating out of their Robsons business in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

The new Range Ts will be trunking all over the UK, delivering goods for some of the world’s leading brands and manufacturers, own label products as well as developing companies.

Mark Matkin, Culina’s Group Fleet Manager, says: “Working with such prestigious clients, vehicle reliability is our number one priority as this enables us to deliver an efficient and cost-effective solution to meet our customer’s needs. We already have 60+ Range Ts on the fleet and the vehicles’ reliability record speaks for itself.

In our experience, the Renault Truck has come of age and is a genuine quality-built vehicle that is giving other manufacturers a run for their money!”

The T460s have been brought in specifically to support Culina Group’s aim to provide its clients with a robust supply chain platform, trusted to deliver in a challenging and dynamic industry: “Our market is tough, but as a business we are performing well and we like how the Range Ts have slotted seamlessly into our operation,” explains Mark Matkin.

Driver satisfaction was another important consideration for Culina Group and the trucks have been thoughtfully specified with optional extras including microwaves, phone systems, ‘ultimate’ upper bunk that can be transformed into additional storage, articulated LED lamps in the bunk area and 24L ‘quiet’ fridges for the drivers who live in them during the week. They have also been fitted with air-suspended, heated driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar support and seat cushion extension, one-touch electric windows, comfort air conditioning, leather steering wheel with cruise and telephone control.

Mark Matkin says: “After carefully evaluating other makes, we also took our driver’s opinions into consideration. They say they like them, consider them to be a very comfortable drive with a good layout and impressive qualities for nights out on the road.”

“BRS put together an attractive all round package that demonstrated their commitment to get a mutually beneficial deal done. They have provided us with a consistently high level of service and this, combined with a fantastic local dealer, Thompson Commercials in Boston, made it an easy choice to select Renault Trucks on this occasion and we can see this relationship building in the future,” concludes Mark.
