Logistics specialist R Jameson Event Transport has strengthened its European operation by buying two new Schmitz Cargobull MEGA trailers, citing quality and longevity as the reasons for the investment.

The new arrivals have been built using the German manufacturer’s FERROPLAST® panels, which are tougher than conventional bodywork and yet also thinner, so offer additional internal volume for transporting larger loads.

The Buckinghamshire-based events business runs a 25-strong trailer fleet, of which more than half is made up of Schmitz Cargobull assets. The new trailers replace older assets and will be used to carry flight cases and staging equipment across Europe.

Owner Richard Jameson, who established the business in 2005, says: “We like our current Schmitz Cargobull trailers because they’re really robust and that’s essential when you’re carrying bulky, heavy exhibition gear that would knock and damage a lesser trailer. When we needed new assets for our European fleet, Schmitz Cargobull was our first choice.”

He adds: “We know these trailers will be part of our fleet for a very long time because the build quality is superb. Our technicians always say Schmitz Cargobull trailers are a dream to work on because the way they’re constructed makes them easy to maintain, but as they’re so well made it’s rare they are off the road.”

The trailers will be based at R Jameson Event Transport’s main site in Marlow and operational for up to seven days each week during busy periods.

They have been built on Schmitz Cargobull’s MODULOS bolted chassis, which has been designed for both strength and durability and comes with a 10-year warranty against rust-through on all galvanised parts. Other features include ferry hold down shackles and five rows of load lock tracking for added load security.
